22 Bishopsgate topping out ceremony
On Friday we were delighted to attend the 22 Bishopsgate topping out ceremony. The topping out ceremony signifies that the structure has reached its highest point, to mark the occasion a yew tree was placed at the top of the new building. This dates back to the ancient Scandinavian practice to appease the located spirits displaced in its construction.
5.3 million human hours have gone into the construction of 22 Bishopsgate, a 62 floor building and one of the tallest in Europe at 294m AOD.
