alinea’s (and the city’s) tallest building reaches Practical Completion

We are delighted to confirm that 22 Bishopsgate reached Practical Completion.

Main Contractor Multiplex has completed and handed over to the operational team who will now manage the fit out works ahead of formal opening by the middle of 2021.

The PLP Architecture designed 62 storey building stands proudly as the tallest in the City at 278m tall and accordingly has some of the best 360° views of London. It can fit 12,000 workers and boasts amenities including a 20,000sqft food area, gym, wellbeing space and capacity for 1,700 bikes.

It’s one of the older projects on the alinea “books” with our work commencing in 2015 when developer Lipton Rogers Developments, with funding from a consortium of investors led by AXA Real Estate bought the previous site known as Pinnacle.

The Project team, which also includes AECOM Project Management and WSP engineering has seen its share of challenges and endured significant global events!

We are thrilled to see 22 Bishopsgate reach this momentous milestone and congratulate all those who have been involved in its delivery.
