Project Spotlight – Mamma Mia! The Party

In the penultimate issue of our ongoing reinvention project spotlight series,  we bring you Mamma Mia! The Party in the O2 Arena…. An immersive theatrical and eating experience.

This exciting cut and carve scheme by Architects Haworth Tompkins took an existing club and transformed it into a 500 seat Greek taverna inspired space.  Based on the original immersive venue in Stockholm the scheme focused heavily on reducing waste by repurposing elements of the existing club and using recycled materials where possible; in turn this also allowed for highly efficient costing and accelerated construction time.  Key considerations across the project included complex level options designed for clear sightlines throughout the venue and specialised venting to ensure good air circulations whilst allowing for optimise acoustics.
