Say hello, wave goodbye

As we wave goodbye to three years of political turmoil, we say hello to the stability of a majority Conservative government, and some clarity – at least until we approach the end of the Implementation Period later this year. Whilst the global economy is forecast to grow (albeit precariously), we wait to see if the UK economy enjoys something of a ‘bounce’, and whether the Budget on 11th March provides any encouragement for such. The relative positivity of recent months, if sustained, will take some time to rinse through into the construction pipeline, so we expect the market to be steady in the next period, trimming our tender price index for London & the South-East for 2020 to 1%, edging up to 2% in 2021. As unforeseen global events increasingly impact the UK, and with a UK government never seemingly far away from another surprise, we will be monitoring the situation closely. Read more here >>
